Tracing the roots to 1982 with the founding of Rajesh Traders in Savarkundla, Gujarat, the company initially focused on manufacturing and selling diamond tools and equipment. By 1992 we expanded the operations to Surat, aiming to produce high-quality engineering products to support India’s burgeoning diamond industry. Key innovations followed, including the launch of the “Round Dish Machine” in 1993 and the first Diamond Scaife in 1995. In 1999, the company initiated international research on HPHT microparticles in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, marking a significant step toward advanced diamond technologies.
In 2001, we made a pivotal decision to shift our focus towards Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) technology. This strategic move aimed to produce single-particle, non-GEM diamonds. In 2002, Govind Engineering was founded, with a mission to lead India in CVD diamond development. After four years of research and prototyping, the company successfully produced the first CVD diamond in 2004. From 2005 to 2010, significant progress was made, with a growing reputation in the CVD space, especially as we began scaling the production of GEM-quality diamonds.
The period between 2011 and 2013 marked the official launch of our state-of-the-art CVD diamond manufacturing facility, aptly named ‘New Diamond Era.’ This was a milestone in India's diamond manufacturing landscape, positioning the organisation as a pioneer in CVD diamond technology. The company began exporting products globally, extending the reach and solidifying our presence in the international market. This era marked the beginning of Bhathwari’s strong global presence in both industrial and GEM-quality diamond sectors.
From 2016 onward, we expanded our product offerings and capabilities. In 2016, we improved the production efficiency in GEM-quality diamonds and ventured into the manufacturing of Plasma Systems in 2017. This expansion aligned with the brand’s long-term vision of promoting CVD technology and products across India. By 2019, the company had further diversified by starting Cromwell E-beam Solution LLP, broadening the technological portfolio with advanced e-beam solutions and reinforcing the leadership in cutting-edge equipment for the diamond industry.
The company continued to innovate during the 2020-2023 period, introducing various technological advancements that enhanced our production capabilities. In 2023, we launched new machines, including etching and LPHT (Low-Pressure High Temperature) machines, further solidifying reputation for technological innovation. The company’s continued focus on research and development has allowed it to offer state-of-the-art solutions, not only in diamond production but also in the associated technologies that drive the industry forward.
In 2024, the company took another major leap with the launch of the Sachin Unit. This cutting-edge facility is dedicated to manufacturing tooling applications, diamond chip research, medical devices (such as those for oxygen therapy), and high-tech products like microprocessor chips. The Sachin Unit also produces advanced equipment, including CVD microwave machines, LPHT machines, and etching machines. With this facility, Bhathwari Technologies positions itself as a key player in the global diamond industry and related technologies, offering a wide range of innovative solutions. We took our first steps into GEM-quality diamond production in 2005. After years of research, the company began producing Light Brown GEM-quality diamonds using a single growth chamber. In these early stages, each chamber produced diamonds ranging from 50 to 80 cents, marking a significant achievement in precision and quality.
Building on the initial success, we refined the production process between 2007 and 2008. This allowed the company to increase GEM-quality diamonds grown in one chamber. By this time, four GEM-quality diamonds, each ranging from 80 to 100 cents, could be grown in a single cycle, highlighting the company’s advancements in efficiency and technology.
In this period, the company achieved a breakthrough by establishing the ‘New Diamond Era’ manufacturing unit. By 2011, production capabilities had expanded to nine GEM-quality diamonds (K-L color) in a single chamber, with each diamond weighing up to 1 carat. This leap in production efficiency set the stage for us to become a leader in the synthetic diamond industry.
Between 2016 and 2018, we continued to push the boundaries of the GEM-quality diamond production. By 2016, the company was producing 12 GEM-quality diamonds (I-J color, up to 1 carat) in one chamber, a significant improvement in both color and quantity. In 2018, further advancements allowed the growth of 16 diamonds (G-H color, 1.0-1.5 carat) in a single chamber, cementing the company’s status as a pioneer in CVD diamond production.
The period from 2020 to 2023 saw the organisation achieve remarkable milestones. In 2020, the company was producing GEM-quality diamonds (G-H color, 1.0-3.0 carat) with up to 16 diamonds grown in one chamber. By 2022, production had increased to 21 diamonds (F-G color, 1.0-3.0 carat) per chamber, and in 2023, the company set a new benchmark by growing 25 GEM-quality diamonds (D-E-F color, 1.0-7.0 carat) in a single cycle, showcasing our mastery over the CVD process.
In 2024, the company launched the Sachin Unit, marking a new chapter in diamond production. The unit is dedicated to producing a wide range of GEM-quality diamonds, including colorless and colored diamonds like yellow, pink, black, red, and green. The facility boasts the ability to grow up to 25 diamonds, each weighing between 1.0 to 8.0 carats, in a single chamber. This achievement reflects Bhathwari Technologies’ commitment to innovation, quality, and excellence in the diamond industry.
